We were able to pick our second project for Design II class. I always wanted to brand a coffee shop from logo design to completion. I started playing around with names and wanted to add a little humor to it. The name of the coffee shop is “Evolution Coffé”. Below is my final in pdf form, a link to the website and a couple pictures I snapped of the products.

For my Design II class we had to select any of the many social issues that surround us and come up with several designs. I came up with two billboard designs. The pdf’s posted below are my brief, some sketches and the finals of the design.
Unit 1 Design Brief (62 kb)
Unit 1 Design Sketches (2.96 mb)
Unit 1 Design Finals (3.95 mb)
I should be posting my other project for this class next week.

My son (4 years) and I were playing with a flashlight. It was his idea to go into the dark and tell scary stories. Usually when him and I play any game it evolves into something that is totally different than when we started. The great thing about this is it evolved into some great experimentation. I took my camera out while he was moving the light and left my shutter open while he moved the flashlight around. Of course I was having fun and decided to paint the air with my flashlight brush as well. Click the photos below to visit my flickr page. Sprint Ad Fun.

I know this is pronounced different but I read it wrong the first time and LMAO.

We went to Whitte Museum on “Free Tuesgay”.
Okay before this next one I have to tell you how committed I have become trying to scout the city for these signs. No, I don’t just go around finding signs that are messed up… they come to me. On this next one the light was flickering on and off and it took several shots (I know I am a dork).

Pe Smart… this whole time I have been peeing dumb. If only I knew there was a store that taught this before.

A buddy of mine sent me over this link for an addon to install on my firefox. I hate going to the firefox addon website because I never get off of it. I usually spend an hour browser through new addons as opposed to finding the one I was looking for in the first place. The name of the addon is Piclens (Windows) by cooliris. If you get a chance download it so you can play around with it. For Google images you search the image you are looking for and when it displays the results you see a little play button when you hover over the image. When you click on the play button it opens a new screen with a wall of images that you can maneuver around with your mouse in 3D like environment. This thing is way cool, just imagine all the possibilities. Below are some screen shots I took using it. Here is the Piclens for Mac and a video demo. Once you play with it for Google, imagine going through that many photos that quickly on a stock photography website. When you needing to look for that right image for your design. Imagine all the images results on one wall of photos that you can scroll through fast and easily. I love where this is going.

It currently works for the following websites
- Flickr
- Photobucket
- Picasa Web Albums
- deviantART
- Smugmug
- Facebook
- MySpace
- Bebo
- Hi5
- Friendster
- Google Images
- Yahoo Images
- Ask Images
- Live Images
- AOL Images
Enjoy just like I did

I am so excited that I had to blog about it. Tomorrow at about 3:00pm I have a personal shopping meeting at the Apple Store. After my many questions and many thoughts I should be coming home with “HER”. You ask who is she? My reply is who is she not! I am looking at a 17inch mactop, about 2.6ghz with 2 gigs of ram. Nothing to scream about other than the ability to call her my own. I have waited a whole year for her and can’t believe the moment is finally here.
Okay I know I went a little overboard with this one, but I am excited can you tell? When I do have my mactop I will post pictures of her and I at the park.

OOD Yar. Happy New Yar!!!

Kind of works like Cash Express… except you are dealing with ash instead of money.

Fried Jewelers is a new restaurant in town. I am still wondering if it is a sit down restaurant or a buffet.
I will keep on the look out for more. If you come across any funny signs and happen to take a picture I can post it here. Just send the pictures to icemancast (at) gmail dot com.

I don’t remember what I was surfing for but I came across a website with a certain invention. It is one of those inventions that you look at and say “I could have thought of that”. I will admin that I am an edge man. When my wife cooks lasagna I always go for the edge, it’s something about that crispy cheese that I love. Well this invention is called the Bakers Edge, where everything cooked in it is an edge. GENIUS! I will be honest and tell you that it was love and first site.

1. ) Increase the site visits to this website. If I had to give a number I would say 5,000 to 10,000 visits a month. You can help me with this if you have some suggestions or want me to talk on a certain subject or just plain digg and invite peeps.
2.) My goal for my business is to expand and have at least 1 other employee helping with the workload. I want the business to make six figures this year.
3.) My goal for family is to spend more time with my kiddos and my beautiful wife. We will be searching for a house to buy by fall of this year.
4.) To become closer to my extended family brother, sister, brother-in-law and nieces.
5.) To pay off as much debt as I possibly can (college loans included).
6.) To lose about 20-30 pounds (going on a little diet for the month of January).
7.) I have been reading a lot lately, from a kid who would pick the books with more pictures than words, to reading 2 books a month is a pretty big change. I would like to increase this and absorb as much knowledge as I can about web, marketing, idea inspiration and business.
8.) Make good grades in school, SCAD.
9.) I guess as some point find a church to go to. Enough Said.
What are your goals for the new year? Post them here or post a link to your blog for your goals. HAPPY NEW YEAR AND THE BEST TO YOU AND YOUR PLANSÂ FOR ANOTHER PROSPEROUS YEAR!
