Spent time on new design today

January 14th, 2009

Ha! I set aside 30 minutes to begin my design process for my new layout. Getting really excited about it. I start out almost every design on paper first. Seems it gives me a boundless amount of space for ideas to spill out on the page before I meet any computer restrictions.

Will continue to keep you posted.

Piclens for Firefox

February 28th, 2008

A buddy of mine sent me over this link for an addon to install on my firefox. I hate going to the firefox addon website because I never get off of it. I usually spend an hour browser through new addons as opposed to finding the one I was looking for in the first place. The name of the addon is Piclens (Windows) by cooliris. If you get a chance download it so you can play around with it. For Google images you search the image you are looking for and when it displays the results you see a little play button when you hover over the image. When you click on the play button it opens a new screen with a wall of images that you can maneuver around with your mouse in 3D like environment. This thing is way cool, just imagine all the possibilities. Below are some screen shots I took using it. Here is the Piclens for Mac and a video demo. Once you play with it for Google, imagine going through that many photos that quickly on a stock photography website. When you needing to look for that right image for your design. Imagine all the images results on one wall of photos that you can scroll through fast and easily. I love where this is going.

Hologram TV?

December 5th, 2007

Came across this from Smashing Magazine’s article Monday Inspiration: User Experience of the future. After reading I found another interesting article about the future of TV and some predictions on Hologram TV: Better Than HDTV? I remember the first time I saw something like this was in the Star Wars movies and of course like everyone else thought hey that is my idea. See the videos below

Visit the Apple Store

October 1st, 2007

If you have not visited an Apple Store you have to. No matter what time I visit, it is crammed with people. Sooner or later I will be posting from my new Mactop. I don’t want too much from my laptop just the essentials.

MacBook Pro

  • 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2×1GB
  • 160GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
  • SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

Just enough to get me mobile and wireless. Sometimes it is hard just creating or programming in one place.
